Maha Mrityunjaya mantra
Rig Veda 7.59.12
Jađur Veda, Shri Rudra Prashnaha (Rudrino pitanje) iz Taittirija Upanišade
ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिंम् पुष्टिवर्धनम् ।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान् मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ।।
Om trjambakaṁ jađāmahe sugandhiṁ pušṭi-vardhanam ǀ
urvārukam-iva bandhanān mṛtjormukšīja māmṛtāt ǁ
Om we worship and adore you three eyed, Shiva. You are the sweet scent of life that nurtures and strengthens us. As when, at the right time, a ripe melon is freed from the stems (with the help of the gardener), so it frees us from attachment and death, and gives us liberation and immortality.
Maha in Sanskrit means great, mritju means death, and jaja is victory. The Maha Mritjun Jaya mantra leads to immortality, victory over death through moksha (liberation from the cycle of birth and death). That is why it is also known as the “moksha mantra”. On the way to ultimate freedom, moksha, this mantra removes the fear of death, obstacles in life and protects.
